Secco-Gondola

High above, where the air is clearer, the panorama wider, mountain peaks within reach and the atmosphere magical, a very special experience awaits you: the new Secco gondola. You glide silently over the glittering glacier world, a glass of sparkling Secco in your hand, fine snacks at your fingertips – and nothing but panoramic views all around you.

The Secco gondola is equipped with the following culinary delights:

0.2 l Prosecco of your choice per person (rosé, brut or non-alcoholic)
Pago orange juice & glacier water
Assorted snacks
Pretzel (per person)

The gondola can accommodate 2–6 people and will be specially prepared for you.

Brettljausen-Gondola

A very different way to enjoy a welcome stop for refreshments: This kind of holiday experience is indeed a special one, when, after a satisfying morning of skiing, hiking, or a visit to Nature’s Ice Palace, you climb into the "Brettljausen-Gondola" with some of your favourite people.

The cold platter consists of delicious regional delicacies: the culinary diversity ranges from A, as in alpine cheese spread, to Z for Zillertal cheese variations. The breadbasket is filled with a variety of pastries and, of course, traditional Zillertal farmhouse bread. And not forgetting two other essential ingredients: The "Glacier Schnaps“ and lovely Zillertal Music – with an eclectic mix of local tunes just ready to play! Drink requests are well-catered for by the Zillertal Bier Brewery: choose between Zillertal Beer, Zillertal Radler (shandy) or "Midi's" premium lemonades in a variety of flavours (apple, ginger or lemon).

One cabin offers space for 2 up to 4 persons.

Classic Gondola Breakfast

Coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh pastries, a large selection of sausages and cheeses, various spreads, breakfast eggs, fresh fruit, muesli and yoghurt: you can enjoy all of this while you gondola over the ski area and observe the mountain scenery and the skiers from a bird's eye view. A glass of sparkling wine should not be missing from the breakfast package at the classic gondola breakfast in Tux - Tirol and is included!

Bavarian Gondola Breakfast

For those who prefer hearty, traditional food, there is the Bavarian variant of the Gondola Breakfast: Munich white sausages, crispy pretzels and a cool wheat beer make the hearts beat faster. The Bavarian Gondola Breakfast is the ideal tip for a casual bachelor party or simply a cool start to a great day with friends on the Hintertux Glacier!

Frequently asked questions

Can the classic breakfast and the Brettljausen gondola also be booked for more than 4 people?

For reasons of space, the maximum upper limit for the Brettljausen gondola and breakfast gondola is 4 people. For more people we recommend a hearty snack in our service restaurant Wirtshaus am Tuxer Ferner. For groups of up to 6 people, the Bavarian gondola breakfast is also available in the gondola.

How long does the gondola breakfast or the Brettljausen gondola last?

Gondola breakfast:
The boarding time can be chosen between 09.00 and 10.00. After that you can ride as many laps as you want. Experience has shown that most guests have breakfast between 3-4 rounds, with one round lasting around 20 minutes.

Brettljausen gondola:
The boarding time can be selected between 12.30 p.m. and 2 p.m., the last possible exit at the valley station of the 10er Gefrorene Wand Bahn is at 3.45 p.m. In between, you can gondola and snack to your heart's content, with one round (from the valley station to the mountain station and back) taking about 20 minutes.

Do you sit alone in the gondola or with other guests?

The gondola will be reserved exclusively for you and your loved ones. So you don't sit in the gondola with other guests!

Are dogs allowed in the gondola?

We would like to point out that the table in the gondola can sometimes get cramped with a dog. If you think your four-legged friend can get along well in the gondola, you are welcome to bring your dog with you.

How do you get to the breakfast gondola or Brettljausen gondola?

The 10-person Gefrorene Wand Bahn starts right next to the Tuxer Fernerhaus at 2,660m. From the valley station in Hintertux, take the first two gondolas (Gletscherbus 1 or 8-seater Sommerberg and Gletscherbus 2 or 4-seater Fernerhaus) up and then board the 10-seater Gefrorene Wand Bahn directly at the station next to it. Which mountain railway ticket is required?

The gondola breakfast or the Brettljausen gondola can either be taken with the regular ski pass or as a pedestrian with the Fascination Ice Panorama Ticket. The panorama ticket Fascination Ice is also valid for the Gletscherbus 3, so nothing stands in the way of an ascent to the panorama terrace or to the Natural Ice Palace after breakfast or before a snack.

Does the gondola breakfast or Brettljausen gondola also take place in bad weather?

In principle, the gondola breakfast or the Brettljausen gondola takes place in any weather. If it is not possible to operate the 10-seater Gefrorene Wand Bahn due to a strong storm etc., guests with a reservation will be informed of the cancellation on the day of breakfast. In this case, the money will of course be refunded. Otherwise we ask you to observe the terms and conditions, which state that free cancellation is possible up to 7 days before the reserved date, after that 100% cancellation costs apply.
