idyllic routes in the Tyrolean Alps
The Alps are THE region for long-distance hiking trails. There are many highly different paths leading across Austria or from Italy to Germany. Luckily, Tuxertal is located in the heart of the Tyrolean mountains and is therefore as a stopover point of many hiking trails. Take a break in Tux-Finkenberg, enjoy Tyrolean delicacies and enjoy a panoramic view of Hintertux glacier before you continue hiking to the south, north, east or west.
Starting in the beautiful Tyrolean municipalities Tux and Finkenberg, it is possible to hike on different multi-day routes. These routes impress hikers with the finest mountain air, great panoramas and almost unspoilt alpine scenery..
You can hike on this path, the Zillertaler Runde, for six days. Not enough? Extend your long-distance hiking holiday across Aschaffenburger Höhenweg!
The Zillertaler Runde can be experienced from Mayrhofen to Finkenberg or vice versa as it is a fascinating experience in both directions: past two beautiful lakes and Tux’s landmark, the Olperer. The daily stages of different lengths lead across good hiking trails through alpine and high-alpine territory –good mountaineering equipment and endurance are required here.
There’s a refuge hut at the end of every stage for mountain hikers to rest and even spend to night.
Retrace the steps of the mountaineering legend and hike the western summits of the Zillertal Alps on 56 km.
6 huts line the path named after the famous mountaineer from Zillertal.
